Phone works, made many calls on itThe brand name is NEC Nippon Electric CompanyMy father (Howard) served on the U.S.S. Baltimore 1945 1946, at one point they went to Nagasaki to access damage and remove infrastructure from the city to prevent the Japaneses War Machine for rebuilding. This phone was removed by my father and brought back to the states. I can prove he was on the ship at that time and it was doing occupational stuff at the time. However, I have no proof that the phone actually came from Nagasaki but that is what he had told me several times. It does have Japaneses characters for the writing which says something like put finger in hole and turn the dial. There is a ID inside which is in all Japanese. I was told this came from a building that was making engines for planes down near the docks where their shipped was moored. It seemed that there was a US base Sasebo Naval Base that was their home base and would work around that area. Nagasaki is close to this base. supporting documentation is not part of the listing, but I could make copies of some of the documents
