Very rare to market, a 3-D Wailing Wall copper stencil by Mordechai Avniel from the 1940's - 1950's. Mordechai Avniel was a judge in Haifa and was a very good artist. He became part of the faculty of the Bezalel School of Art in Jerusalem and ultimately rose to the position of director of the school. This particular copper stencil has its' origins from a piece that Avniel did in 1929, in stone, called "Two Elders at the Wailing Wall". What is amazing about this particular piece is that the back is filled-in by Avniel with title, signature and location in Jerusalem. The provenance is spectacular. The measurement of the image is 20" wide x 14 1/4" high. The frame measures 25 3/8" wide x 19 3/8" high.
