Enormous advertising theater banner poster by H. J. Kihl for the Bucks County Playhouse Theater in New Hope, Pennsylvania. Signed and dated 1953. H. J. Kihl was a book illustrator, including Nancy Drew books and Jane Eyre (see photograph), as well as a painter of advertising banners for Macy's, other department stores, theaters. Oil on canvas. Vivid colors used in depicting a mischievous and playful winter scene. Beautiful weathering and absolutely fantastic patina from most likely being hung outdoors. The banner was stretched onto a wood frame during my ownership. Measures: 93" wide X 73" tall X 1" deep.
