Description: & condition: This is a very early Bezalel collectible spice holder. As apparent from the split in the wood and the color. The wood is darker then others I've seen due to its age. It may be from around 1900-1905. The cover does not come off, and I would not advise you trying to force it unless you are a professional who deals with old wood. The actual piece is very strong and not fragile but if you try to pry it open with the wrong tools it is sure to chip at the edges or crack. The symbolism and inscriptions on the sides are as follows. 'Boreh Minei Besamim', 'Hineh El Yeshuati', 'Bezalel- Jerusalem', 'Migdal David', with all sorts of designs. 'Bezalel' is very clear.
