Brand spanking new. Literally just removed plastic wrapping, I NEVER once opened prior. Last I saw she arrived from knife center (I only saw the spyderco pouch never opened), put her immediately into my safe. Fvck she’s a beauty! Rassenti could live off proceeds from this one style alone.
For me, in my humble opinion, the majority of my top ten knives most are middle finger flickable knives. Since I learned to flick open a knife (first via spideyhole) that was such a joy and became a must for me as the fidgeting and deploying and closing over and over became an almost must have. I’ve obviously carried knives that cannot be deployed by middle finger flicking. However 90% of my favorited knives can be middle finger flicked out (any type of middle finger flick deployment fine). The flick ability and fidget factor all help set the Paysan as one of the best knives ever. That’s the enjoyment in knife love, everyone is welcome to their own (incorrect) opinion. 🙄

This unit has been a Safe Queen. It’s a Grail Knife. I hadn’t felt my collection was complete until got her. I purchased but after couple months it got cancelled by knifecenter. Waited with knife in my cart but it never showed available, eagerness turned to desperation as year passed. Hate to do this maneuver but I wanted her badly, so I contacted management and at the time my status was high level due to monthly excessive shopping, so they actually listened and held firm to their good customer service claims allocating one unit to me. In total it took over a year and price went up 30%. I adore blade shape. Yeah yeah “it’s ideal for ___ type cutting…” YAWN. Who cares, it’s so damn sexy. When business was good, I used those extra funds toward a second unit, so I purchased another Paysan from used, allowing me to carry my fav blade. The exceedingly handsome Paysan sits high in my rotation and it’s one of my goat EDC tools. I’m convinced, riding on it’s coattails, it makes me look better. It’s is the belle of the ball. When it makes an appearance, (comes out of pocket to slash through newly arrived knife box packaging) inevitably those nearby are drawn in by it’s seductive attraction.
