An absolutely stunning example of the rare oriental poppy table lamp by Tiffany Studios. The 18" diameter shade features the iconic oriental poppy pattern with flowers in multicolored reds, ranging from deep ruby red to coral and incredibly complex tones of mixed reds, with blues and purples interspersed. The shade has a background of a breathtaking turquoise blue, streaked with complex greens throughout. The shade is further decorated with green foliage and poppy pods in wonderful tones of oranges and greens. The shade is finished with three wonderful geometric rows in fiery orange and extensive streaking. The shade, in both the flowers and background, has wonderful transparency. The complexity of the glass is further accentuated with Tiffany freckling and mottling. The leading is finished in a beautiful original Tiffany patina in brown, with lovely verdigris accents. It is signed "Tiffany Studios New York 2598." The shade is in excellent condition, with just a small number of tight cracks. The shade sits on a Tiffany Studios patinated bronze Tyler-style base. The three-socket base is finished in a rich, dark brown patina. The underside is signed "Tiffany Studios New York 368." Provenance Sotheby's June 5th, 2001. 25” x 18” x 18”. Excellent Condition
