The members of the Valentinefamily watched myeyes as together we passed in slow timethrough theirhouse. We laughed and chattered. My eyes, alert to broken furniture, required apologies. Younger children were close to theTV. An older son, who had tried Chicago for seven months, was lying sullen inthe back."There just isn't much for young men around here."As the Valentines told me of difficulties thatcouldn't be counted and wearyingly engaged mysympathies, I felt in each nerve of mine a sense of the world slipping by, while I merely observed itsdisappearance.I feared being onlyeyes, only a cameraman.

"Richards’ first book… a documentation of life in the impoverished and racially troubled South."
Rest assured all items will be packaged with great care. I’m happy to ship without the frame if desired by the purchaser.
I have loved living with this artwork. As I am selling due to personal hardship, mostly I have been pricing everything on the low end of a reasonable range for this market -in an effort to sell, and ideally sell quickly. This I’ve priced above the low end of a reasonable range. That said, if this photograph doesn’t find an appreciative buyer who will cherish it, it will enrich my life for the rest of my days.It is a special print.
Inquiries and best offers welcomed.
