(FINAL PRICE to be NEGOTIATED)—NOTE : MANY MORE PHOTOS will be available soon — Including Key Measurements)—Purchased in 1998 from Velsani Antiques of Kingston, New York, this one-of- kind sculpture was (as seller was informed) created by a woman sculptress working and studying in the early 1980’s in Florence, Italy. —The identity of the artist remains unknown.—Apparently, the sculptress was present for the First Public Showing of the then recently restored pair of Riaci Warriors (designated A and B).—This is an approximate 1/2 size wooden replica — masterfully assembled from Cyress wood (seller was told — uncertain). The artist crafted both Warriors A and B. She polychromed Warrior B but did not do so to this replica of Warrior A. Why? No one knows — perhaps she realized that the “accidental wood grain” patterns revealed once she formed and refined the figure from glued-dowel-assembled Cypress (?) wood so tellingly revealed almost perfectly the inherent physiognomy and spirit inherent in the figure.—Seller suggests potentially interested buyers to do their own research on the history of the Riaci Bronzes whence this figure is derived. Please study those bronzes in detail.
