An exceptionally rare original editorial press photograph depicting Adolf Hitler in Germany during 1932, photographed by the legendary photojournalist Alfred Eisenstaedt.
Eisenstaedt is regarded as one of the greatest photographers of the twentieth century and became internationally renowned as one of the founding photographers of LIFE Magazine. His photographs are held in the collections of major museums worldwide, including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), the International Center of Photography and numerous institutional collections.
This original print dates from the early period of Eisenstaedt's career and portrays Adolf Hitler during the final months of the Weimar Republic, shortly before his appointment as Chancellor of Germany in January 1933.
The reverse retains multiple original PIX Publishing Inc., New York editorial agency stamps, including the important photographer credit:
"PLEASE CREDIT EISENSTAEDT – PIX"
confirming Alfred Eisenstaedt as the photographer.
