Cabinet card, 6.5" x 4.25", Santee Sioux children, taken by Burnett in Springfield, South Dakota in the Spring of the year 1900.
The kids are identified as members of the Garvie family of Santee, Nebraska, on the back of the cabinet card.
They were the children ofReverend James Wilson Garvie and Anna Wikayawastewind Red Wing, who was a descendant of a noted Chief of that name.
Their children were:
Cordilia M Garvie 1884 – 1908
Steward Garvie 1886 – 1903
George Redwing Garvie 1890 – 1969
James W Garvie Jr 1894 – 1952
Joseph Roy Redwing Garvie 1899 - 1963
Lawrence Garvie 1902 – 1906
All are shown in this photograph except Lawrence, who was not born yet.
