It's offered to your attention the immersion rescue suit Forel of the Russian cosmonaut Sergey Volkov flown in space during his ISS-45/46 mission. Totally lasting 181 days, the mission was accomplished from September 02, 2015 to March 02, 2016. This orange rescue suit was included in survival kit of Soyuz TMA-18M lander. It has been packed into a white half-transparent bag with the name tag of Sergey Volkov on it. The suit is intended to be used in the event of emergency splashdown. It keeps cosmonaut afloat, dry and warm upon escape from the lander. This particular suit is marked with the initials VSA standing for Volkov Segey Alexandrovich. The information tag of the suit says: the suit name is Forel, size 8, number 1140178.

Design features.The immersion suit is made as one complete unit excluding the gloves. It is put on via the front opening, like rescue spacesuits and high-altitude suits. The opening is sealed with a rubber tie, and then closed with a zipper. A soft hood made of elastic rubber is attached to the neck of the suit. It fits close to the wearer's head protecting it from hypothermia. The immersion suit is equipped with an inflatable collar, which is attached to the shell of the suit and equipped with an emergency light on the chest. The collar can be inflated manually with the mouth via the mouthpiece connected to the blowing valve.

Personality.Sergey Volkov is the first Russian cosmonaut of the second generation. His father cosmonaut Alexander Volkov flew onboard space stations Salyut-7 and MIR, retired in 1998. During his first space mission Sergey Volkov met the first American second generation astronaut Richard Garriott. They landed together. Commander of the ISS-17 mission at the age of 35, Sergey Volkov was the youngest person to command the ISS in its history. Like his father, Sergey accomplished 3 space flights. Sergey spent almost 548 days in space. He made 4 spacewalks of the total duration of over than 23 hours. Titled as the Hero of Russia, Sergey Volkov has many awards. He left the cosmonauts team in 2017.
