Between January 28, 1952 and February 1, 1953, Frank Frazetta’s newspaper comic Strip, Johnny Comet (later retitled Ace McCoy) ran in newspapers across the United States. The panels of this strip are filled with brilliant images of beautiful women, heroic men, hurling race cars, and dozens of colorful secondary characters portrayed in Frazetta’s inimitable style.
This is a near complete collection of those newspaper strips -- 311 dailies and 50 Sunday pages. Overall, the set is in excellent condition. The collection is a piece of comic art history.
Anyone seriously considering acquiring these strips will already own one of the Johnny Comet books published over the years. Overall, the quality of the images in these strips is a little bit better than the quality of the book images. You can enlarge any of the attached images and compare for yourself.
This offering has been part of a private collection for over 40 years. It is time for it to have a new owner who can treasure and protect it.
