Condition: very good; old envelope foldsIda Lupino was an English-born actress, director and a pioneer among women filmmakers. In her 48-year career she appeared in 59 films; directed 7 others, mostly in the United States, where shebecame a citizen in 1948. She appeared in serial television programs and directed others. Filmsinclude: High Sierra (1941) starring opposite Humphrey Bogart, The Bigamist (1953), which shedirected and starred opposite Joan Fontaine. Television included Mr. Adams And Eve (1957-58)co-starring 3rd husband Howard Duff; Executive Producer 2nd husband Collier Young.
LUPINO WAS THE FIRST WOMAN TO DIRECT A FILM NOIR, THE HITCH-HIKER IN 1953.
