Antique Berghoff Brewing Corporation metal beer keg/barrel from Fort Wayne, Indiana. A substantial piece of early American breweriana with embossed brewery markings on the base.

The bottom is prominently embossed “BERGHOFF BREWING CORP. FT. WAYNE IND.” along with additional patent and regulatory markings. One end has the original central keg fitting/opening. The body has a tapered barrel form with a heavily aged gray metal surface.

Berghoff Brewing Corp. was operating in Fort Wayne during the 1930s; period financial records specifically identify Berghoff Brewing Corp. of Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1933. (FRASER⁠) This makes the keg a particularly interesting piece for collectors of Indiana brewery advertising, pre-/post-Prohibition breweriana, beer memorabilia, or vintage industrial decor.

Condition:

Heavy age and use wear throughout, including scratches, scuffs, staining, oxidation/patina, discoloration, surface residue and areas of finish loss. There are dents/irregularities consistent with an old commercial beer keg. The bottom and fittings show oxidation and accumulated surface dirt. It has not been cleaned or restored, and I would leave the aged surface as-is for the next owner. Please review photos carefully for condition and details. Sold as pictured.
