The delicate bamboo firebox with its beautiful double-layered silk and paper covering the sturdy luxurious base the meticulously crafted 18mm-thick wooden body and the beautifully balanced design make this a beautiful lantern showcasing the talents of traditional artisans. The firebox is painted by traditional craftsman Takamitsu Inohara. The firebox with its warm elegant floral design is adorned with gorgeous depictions of bush clover bellflowers and hibiscus creating a luxurious yet gentle impression. This lantern will brighten up your Obon decorations welcoming your loved ones with a lively atmosphere. The cloud handles and base adorned with authentic maki-e lacquerware are the work of traditional Aizu lacquer craftsman Hiroshi Omori. The wood base is meticulously painted and then further lacquered with maki-e. This lantern exudes elegance not only in the design on the fire box but also in its overall elegance. The beautiful Kutani ware wind chime tassel adds a special touch. Only a few pieces are produced each year making them a special lantern that has become a yearly tradition for displaying during Obon.
