Quarter-plate daguerreotype of an older woman by Jeremiah Gurney studio of New York.
The mat is stamped "J. GURNEY" in the lower-left and "349 BROADWAY" lower-right.
Comes in a full, complete case that has been repaired with a leather strip along the spine. The original seals are in place - they are fragile and splitting but appear to have never been completely removed. The plate is in overall very good antique condition with a tarnish ring and light haze and/or tarnish.
