This Magni Sfida is a hand-built Italian special. Very rare, collector-grade, extremely limited production. Worldwide shipping possible. European‑spec, originally delivered in the Netherlands.Among the general public, Magni is relatively unknown, even among motorcyclists, which is quite logical given the limited production numbers.On the other hand, it’s also strange, considering the impressive racing pedigree of founder Arturo Magni.

Magni was appointed Direttore Sportivo by Count Domenico Agusta of the legendary MV Agusta Reparto Corse, the brand’s racing division.Under his leadership, great — truly great — successes were achieved and records were shattered.

17 consecutive years as world champion (record also still stands)
270 Grand Prix victories in a single era (1950–1976 / Classic GP500 era, still unbeaten)John Surtees remains the only rider ever to become champion at the highest level in both car racing (F1) and motorcycle racing (GP).

On two wheels, he achieved this on an MV crafted under Magni’s direction.

The list of riders who raced under Magni is equally impressive, featuring legends such as Agostini, Ubbiali, and Hailwood.Famous quotes from these men capture Magni’s leadership, and much of their success can be traced directly to Arturo’s expertise:“Magni’s bikes were the closest thing to perfection I ever rode.”“Arturo could feel a problem in the bike before I could describe it.”“I won because Magni never accepted ‘good enough’.”

With the passing of Count Agusta, MV Agusta’s racing division was, partly out of necessity, shut down.

This led Magni to decide to develop and build motorcycles himself, using all the knowledge and experience he had gained in racing.The result was uncompromising, fast, lightweight motorcycles that could not have been closer to the legendary racers.He made decisions unhindered by boardroom meetings in large headquarters.Built in a space that resembled an atelier more than a factory, with a small team of specialists.

His patented parallelogram technique is one of those racing innovations applied directly to his motorcycles.In short, this technique prevents the swingarm from rising under acceleration, allowing for much faster corner exits.Now used in various forms by major manufacturers, but invented by Magni, decades earlier.

The engines often remained largely original, until this model: the Sfida 1100.This was the first engine under Magni production that was thoroughly revised and modified.As a result, it is the brand’s first production motorcycle in which Arturo’s hand is also clearly present in the engine itself.

And they are seriously rare.Exact production numbers are unknown, but the most commonly heard estimate is around 30 units worldwide.

And one of them is now for sale in beautiful Heerde in the Netherlands.In the color Filo Rosso (“red thread”), referring to the racing heritage that runs like a red thread through the brand and Magni’s life.From its first owner, a collector and true enthusiast.Only 6,094 km on the odometer, and imported into the Netherlands by Theo Lamers at the request of this first owner.
