Ultra rare, freshly linenbacked high grade original World War 1 30x40 I WANT YOU FOR US ARMY poster.

This original I WANT YOU THE US ARMY Flagg World War 1 poster was linenbacked when we acquired it. The linenbacking was aged as it was done at least 40 years ago based on the material. The poster was professionally removed from the old linen, deacidified, cleaned, freshly linenbacked and restored. The poster retains its original character and our restorer confirmed that the poster is complete. The remnants of an old snipe was removed along the bottom edge in the blue stripe, the outline can be faintly seen upon close inspection. There are faint black horizontal smudges at some of the I WANT YOU letters. Restoration addressed edge chips; a small chip in Uncle Sam’s hat; a small chip at the top left edge Uncle Sam’s hat; and scattered surface wear. The red and blue poster borders were also touched up.This poster was linenbacked and restored by Lumiere Restoration in California.Photos show the overall quality as well as any imperfections. Note that this is the original 1917 poster.
