This is a rare 1928-1930 aerial real photo postcard (RPPC) showing the exclusive membership only Bald Peak Colony Club in Melvin Village, New Hampshire. The photo appears to capture the club looking northeast from an aircraft. The club still exists today with the same name and still caters to exclusive members.
You will notice this postcard postmarked 1951 but when you zoom in (see pic) there are a group of cars all that have a style closely resembling the boxy Ford Model A-type vehicles popularly used in the late 1920s. The club was designed to attract memberships of the wealthy, so they are not driving around in 20-year-old cars.
This is a rare postcard where I couldn't find any other examples. In addition, you can't find any (old or modern) aerial photos of this club for sale. It is stamped with the club's name leading me to believe that only the club provided this postcard and the club paid for or had a member take this aerial photo from a plane (expensive arrangement at the time). FYI - I'm not stating there are no aerial photographs available to see the club, just none for commercial sale.
Standard postcard size (5.5 x 3.5) - gelatin-silver luster finish
Great condition - there are light scratches on the surface, but you'll only notice these angled in reflective light. While lying flat these are unnoticeable. Also, none of scratches the break of the emulsion surface. There are a couple of light corner creases but again, these are mostly unnoticeable. On the lower right corner someone penciled in "New Hampshire”, but the pencil marks are gone and only the impression of the pencil remains (not very noticeable either). Regardless of the above, overall, it's a nice postcard for its age. Shipping and the blah, blah, blah...
