Thispair of brass cavalry spurs was used by Private, Captain & MajorSamuel Myers when he served in Company C, Shenandoah Rangers, 7h.Virginia Cavalry from June 15, 1861 to January 15,1865.
Theyare in good used condition with the brass having a nice patina &the silver dimes are still shiny.
Theyare the standard brass cavalry spurs with a silver 1863 dime as aroundel on the back instead of the standard issued pointed type.
Theywere bought it directly from the Myers family by the famous Civil WarVirginia artifacts collector E.E.. Bayless of Winchester, Virginia. He had them ondisplay in his private museum in his real estate office on TheTriangle on Valley Avenue across from Handley High School inWinchester for many years. I bought them directly from Mr. Baylass whom I hadknown since I was 12 years old.
Theycome with a certification of authenticity.
