Up for sale is thisamazing hand-carved wooden (yellow cedar) full mount Steelheadtrout by Harold Walker. The painting of this piece is superb and I think thatthis is one of the best carvings that he ever did! It measures 25 ½ inches long from the tip ofthe nose to the center of the tail and has a girth of 13 ½ inches around andthe whole display is 17 ½ inches high. Harold not only carved and painted thisbeautiful piece but he also mounted it to a piece of driftwood and created theriver bed below it. The base measures 27inches long and 10 inches wide. I hadhim create this piece for me back in 1996 and it is signed by him (HW ’96). In addition, there is a brass plate attachedto one of the rocks with the caption “Heber Hen, Harold Walker, 16”. The “16” stands for the sixteenth fish thathe carved. FYI, the Heber Riveris close to where I live and only has summer run Steelhead in it. This carving is exactly what a hen from thatstream looks like. E-mail me with anyquestions.
