Ludwig II, King of Bavaria, was truly passionate about art, architecture and music and was especially captivated by Richard Wagner's opera Lohengrin, which his nickname 'Swan King' is derived from.

He funded the construction of a series of Bavarian castles - among others Schloss Neuschwanstein.

The crown on the cap top symbolises a detail of the monarch's royal seal, and the shape of the clip recalls his nickname Swan King'.

The cap ring is engraved with WWV75' - the reference code of the opera Lohengrin. The cone's shape is inspired by the towers adorning Schloss Neuschwanstein's entrance, while the engraving is inspired by the seal of Ludwig II.

A cap inlay representing the Bavarian royal lion, one of to Ludwig Il's favourite beasts, decorates the cap of the edition, made of Au 750 solid gold.
