Readingand writing are the foundations of our culture and society and are things thatshould be accessible to everyone. Despite this millions of people throught theworld, in particular children, are not able to write. Montblanc has teamed upwith UNICEF to dedicate itself to this major problem in a joint campaign “Signup for the right to write”. In a worldwide initiative, internationalcelebrities from politics, business, arts, culture and sports will becommitting themselves to fight against illiteracy.

As partof this project, three internationally recognized designers have designed higlycollectable artworks in a limited edition of 4800 pieces each for the MB 149.The three are celebrated American artist Tom Sachs, prominent French interiordesigner Andrée Putman, and internationally renowed German-American architectHelmut Jahn. Using their distinctive design languages, they have come up withthree very personal creations which redefine packaging as a work of art in itsown right.

Thesespecial edition creations were available for sale in fall 2004 in a limitededition of 4800 each.

Tom Sachs

New Yorkbased artist Tom Sachs has long been a recognised member of the internationalart scene. Using a combination of inventiveness, teamwork and sophisticated crafttecniques, he draws on the American way of life and the glittering consumerworld of industrial nations to create often controversial sculptures,highlighting the hidden depths and less appealing sides of reality.

TomSachs has packaged the Montblanc Meisterstück 149 in a signed multiple made ofthe Kapaline board for which he is noted and featuring the MB and UNICEF logos.The choice of material and style of this packaging as artwork thus reflectSachs’ typical manner of working.

Pen comes still sealed in the original shrinkwrap completewith display box, outer box, outer sleeve, booklet, as well as all originalpackaging and ink bottle.

We use only high quality materials such as double wall cardboard boxes, extra large buble wrap, polypropylene packaging tape, pvc pipe with high resistance.
Shipment is guaranteed within 24 hours after receiving payment.
We have had some problems our traditional shipping methods (lost packages, major slowdown in delivery) so we decided to move to Fedex Priority Service.
So, the shipping costs are now slightly more expensive (between $45 and $100 depending on destination country, volume and weight of the parcel) but the service is greatly better.
FedEx requires a telephone number (landline or mobile) on the shipping label.
For this reason we ask you to tell us your phone number on the Paypal or with an message.
