Here is your chance to pick up an EXTREMELY impressive artillery display piece. This example is sculpted by C. Kauba and is marked as such on the interior when removed off the marble base. Carl Kauba was a famed Austrian sculpture who was most commonly known for his impressive pieces which focused on nature and the Native Americans. It should be noted that his military statues are nearly non-existent making this of the utmost rarity. In fact, the only other piece by Kauba that has a military theme that I can find is in the Museum of Military History in Vienna, Austria. Excellent patina throughout, being produced with bronze finish. Absolutely incredible amount of detail, which leaves me almost speechless to how somebody could make such an impressive casting. Mounted on a block of marble and can be removed by unscrewing the bolts and washers. Square base of the bust itself shows some wear, with minor chipping to the stone on the corners. Measures just over 13 inches tall from base to the soldier's head. The base measures just over 10-1/2 inches by just under 7-1/2 inches. An incredible display piece for an advanced collection, which may very well be at a fair price compared to other pieces by this artist!
