This is an antique, large, magnificent and very rare rococo clock made in France by Vincenti about 1840. This is a really exceptional clock because several reason:

In the first place, this is with no doubt the rarest clock ever made by Vincenti, because is the only Vincenti clock i have seen made in gilt wood and stucco. A clock completely handmade and not using a mold as the rest of Vincenti clocks made with metal cases (bronze or pewter).

In the second place, it has the movement with a no year seal (it means with ¨¨medaille d'argent 1834¨), and not with the seal of a 1955 year (medaille d'argent 1855) that is very more common that this one.

I the third place, this piece has one of the most profuse, intricate and voluptuous rococo ornamentation i have seen in a clock, not just with a large height of 19 inches, but with a large wide of 13 inches and depth of 7 1/2 inches. A very fabulous and impressive rococo clock with a great eye catching look and two big floral frontal legs (see detailed pictures i took from different angles to show its magnificence). With no doubt, this is most beautifulgilt wood and stuccorococo clock i have seen or found.

The enamel dial with blue numerals is in excellent condition (very rare to find a so old clock with dial in this perfect condition).The french 8 days movement by Vincenti has striking function for hours. The movement is in running order and keeping time (cleaned and oiled) with the strikework functioning as it should when tested. We cannot however guarantee the movement or any mechanical operation following shipping and therefore recommend getting it overhauled by an expert to adjust it.
