This is a hugely popular Goebel Hummel figurine featuring 4 young girls holding hands and dancing in a circle. Copyright 1957.The mold was created by master sculptor Gerhard Skrobek from one of Sister Hummel's drawings and released in 1960.
Skrobek joined Goebel in 1951 and created, or sculpted, the molds for approximately 150 original Hummel
designs before his retirement. He was the master sculptor for many of Hummel's most popular pieces such as Adventure Bound,
Ride Into Christmas, Pleasant Journey and Valentine Gift. Also, Land in Sight and the large Hummel Nativity Scene.
I bought this Hummel in 1986 from World's Fare which was an upscale store on Preston Road in Plano, Texas.
The price shown on the price tag is the price that I paid, plus tax.
It is in excellent condition .... no crazing, cracks, breaks or repairs that I can see. There is no original box.Please look at the pictures carefully to see all the details including the beautiful gold signature of Gerhard Skrobek.
I have owned "Ring Around the Rosie" for 40 years and it has always been kept in a glass display cabinet.
