Description: C. Bruce Santee (1886-1946) was a studio photographer who served Kansas City’s African-American community. Born January 28, 1886 in Fort Worth, Texas, he was living in Dallas, Texas by 1910. In 1914, he ran an advertisement for his new business, The Fad Studio, in the Kansas City Sun. Despite changing location a few times, The Fad Studio operated through 1920, if not longer. In 1920, C. Bruce Santee was still residing in Kansas City but sometime later he moved back to Texas to work as a merchant in a grocery store. He died in Brownwood, Texas on February 5, 1946 and was buried in Dallas.
