White Star Line, RMS "Olympic" 1st Class Grand staircase complex golden oak (one side) and painted yellow the other, complete with both surrounds stateroom door c-1911, complete with original silver plated door handles, and key escucon, and night lock and working Chubb lock (lacking key) all identical to those found and installed on the RMS "Titanic", a similar door can be seen in the background of the famous Grand Staircase (pictured).

We know for certain this particular door originated within the Grand Staircase complex, the painted yellow finish dates from its time within the Haltwhistle paint factory, however there is some compelling evidence of its original location onboard. Under the yellow paint is the famous Adam green, as installed on her last major refit in the 1930's, but also the door frame externally into the public areas of the ship was painted silver to highlight the details. During this refit areas such as the famous carved fruit were highlighted in gold and silver, it seems the door frames were refinished in a silver fashion, the silver paint can be seen under the yellow throughout the frame (pictured) The original golden oak finish would have been been from the internal side for the stateroom. There's a myriad of written shipyard details to decipher, but one that caught my eye on the door frame was 'saloon dk'. Further research is needed to identify which exact room this originated from. This particular door was sold at the original Ocean Liner Haltwhistle sale in 2003, it was lot No 355. It comes with a section of golden oak, also from the staircase complex to be used to fill the later made hole made by the modern lock that had been fitted in the 1980's.

Complete with the surround to both side of the door, each piece covered in shipyard markings, also traces of the adam green paint work, so these would have originated in the Grand Staircase complex.
