For your consideration, this lovely and unique hand carved antique Nativity altarpiece with architectural form richly decorated in Renaissance style elements.

The central Altar depicts the birth of Christ and the Holy Family.

The wooden altar was likely added to the Nativity piece at a later time (probably 19th century) and is not part of the original design.

The first nativity scene is attributed to St. Francis of Assisi in the 13th century who created a living version to inspire devotion.

The theme of the Nativity has been a subject of Christian art since the 4th century , appearing on early Christian sarcophagi.

This is a delicate piece that displays absolutely and unparalleled quality workmanship throughout. Incredible attention to detail that is hard to find in contemporary pieces.

In good overall antique condition for its age, however ithas some age marks commensurate with age and use (please watch closely the provided pics).
