I am pleased to offer from my private collection this unique antique Imperial Russian Faberge presentation gilt silver and hand cut natural amber Easter Egg ,St.Petersburg,c1896.
Made by Faberge\'s head workmaster Julius Rappoport.
The egg is hand cut from a monolite rock of 100% natural Russian Amber with the finest \"butterscotch egg yolk\" color with natural inclussions.
The egg depicting the personal cypher monogram of Tsar Nicholas II beneath the Romanov crown.
The egg stands on a solid silver gold plated base depicting three Imperial Russian eagles.
Hallmarked with Julius Rappoport initials hallmark I.P.; with old St.Petersburg city assay office 88 high purity silver hallmark;with Imperial warant eagle hallmark and Faberge hallmark in Russian.

68mm high.
41g heavy.

Provenance:
The egg has been awarded by Tsar Nicholas II to the Bulgarian diplomat Mr.Stanchioff who was invited to the coronation of Tsar in 1896.
The egg comes from Stanchioff\'s family estate
