It represents a direct dynastic communication between reigning monarchs, formally styled and personally subscribed by Frederick Augustus, who addresses the recipient throughout as his “most dear brother and kinsman.”

The text acknowledges receipt of correspondence announcing the birth of a Neapolitan princess, daughter of Francis, Duke of Calabria and hereditary prince of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies. Frederick Augustus conveys his heartfelt congratulations and extends benevolent wishes to the newborn princess, identified by her baptismal names Carolina Ferdinanda, and to the royal house as a whole.
