🔥ULTRA RARE Vintage 1940’s Ringling Bros Barnum & Bailey Terrell M Jacobs Circus Lion Poster

Up for sale is an incredible vintage 100% original Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey circus poster featuring the famous lion trainer Captain Terrell M. Jacobs.

The poster features a large, roaring lion and a small inset image of Captain Jacobs with the text: "CAPTAIN TERRELL M. JACOBS FAMOUS LION TRAINER SAYS: CAMELS DON'T UPSET MY NERVES OR GET MY WIND!" The advertising specifically promotes Camel cigarettes, as indicated by the quote, "Camels don't upset my nerves or get my wind!".

Terrell Jacobs was a renowned animal trainer who famously toured with the MGM lion mascot, among other acts.

“In 1938 and 1939, while working with the Ringling Bros., Barnum and Bailey Circus Terrell performed with the largest number of lions, tigers and Leopards that had ever been assembled in one arena. The act was advertised as having 50 wild animals, the number was more like 30 to 35, however this is still a very impressive number

This piece is a prototype, a one of a kind!! In order to better preserve and display this incredible piece of circus history we had it professionally framed.

The condition of the poster is good with age appropriate wear, shows creases, folding lines and small rips in the paper. Despite the imperfections this piece is absolutely stunning and guaranteed to make for a very powerful centerpiece amongst your vintage/antique advertising collection.

The frame measures overall 51”x34-1/2”.
