The rooster handle is crafted in 10-carat gold and modeled with exceptional naturalistic detail, standing upright with carefully articulated plumage, comb, and tail feathers rendered in high relief. The tail incorporates elegant openwork scroll ornament characteristic of refined late Georgian goldsmith work.

Figural seals of this type were fashionable accessories for aristocratic and affluent households during the Regency period, functioning both as practical instruments for sealing correspondence and as decorative objects displayed upon a writing desk.

The circular matrix beneath the figure is formed in 10-carat gold and engraved in reverse with a heraldic composition consisting of two coronets positioned above two heraldic badges.
