About half went to national newscasters as gifts during the 1992 Democratic Convention in New York.Robert Downey Jr. got a pair directly from me in the convention hallway, during a time when his career was at a low ebb.
These were junk sunglasses--for which I think I paid $8.00/dozen. Made in Taiwan. (Not horrible quality--but not great). I\'ve seen frames at national optical chain stores, which are no better than these. Anyway, their value is in their rarity and the provenance, as shown in the photo of the Washington Post page.
