DESCRIPTION

Experience a piece of kitchen appliance history with this Antique Ice Box Cooler made by the Illinois Refrigerator Company of Morrison, IL. Constructed from solid oak, this refrigerator from the late 1800s and early 1900s features a metal-lined compartment where large blocks of ice were placed to cool the unit.

The top opens easily, revealing the compartment, while the front door with a strong latch opens to the metal-lined refrigerator area. The lower front bottom panel lifts up and is where a drip tray would have been inserted, but it is no longer present.

This fabulous piece of kitchen history has been well-loved and used over the years, with evidence of refinishing and some subsequent wear, dings, and imperfections. There is also expected minor corrosion to the metal interior. All of these are shown in the pictures and only add to its character and charm.

Despite its age, this antique ice box is still in solid and sturdy condition with minor age-appropriate flaws. The dimensions are as follows: Width 21\", Depth 16\", Height not including handle 41\".

CONDITION

Good usable vintage condition. It was previously refinished. Some subsequent mark and wear. It has appropriate age indications. There is also expected minor corrosion to the metal interior.

Item must be picked up within 60 days. After 60 days there is a storage fee of $5 per day. Please contact us for more information.
