To call it rare seems an understatement!A large compartment to hold paper and pens, a second, smaller compartment, and a snap-shut metal cap glass ink bottle in the upperleft hand corner! Moreover, the ink bottle cap closes with a spring-loaded top, two flap pockets appear under the cover flap, and the entire folio latches closed with a working slide-button metal clasp. The underside of the travel desk clasp and the 1913-1914 paper calendar are marked with the letter-R-in-keystone trademark of the C.F. Rumpp company--the premier American maker of leather articles from before the Civil War until mid-20th century. Please note that as an antique, this folio desk, although in remarkably excellent condition, does show 100 plus years of light scuffs, and its brown pigskin leather still smells faintly of leather oil,so isoffered here as is.From a smoke-free household.
