19th century Diego Velazquez Cross.
The whole length is about 25 inches by 17 inches in length.Christ figure about 15 inches. About 7.5 to 8 pounds.
Fine wood cross. A backing cross of like a thick plywood or 19th century European equivalent that might be original.
There is a red cloth that covers both sides of the ‘plywood’, though over the plast 150 some years has become threadbare in places.Seems the whole is original to help with the weight of the bronze Christ figure.
I could not find a Diego Velazquez crucifix in any museum collect. If you know of any,Please let me know.
