Necklace made of early islamic glass beads, characteristically decorated with eyes, wavy lines, feathering, folded patterns, mosaics, and combinations of these techniques; they were produced from the 8th to the 14th century. They were widely circulated in the ancient Islamic world where some have been preserved in use until recent times, while other have been excavated in North Africa, the Middle East ,Central Asia,and north Europe.The beads are well preserved , presenting surface wearing appropriate to the age.The mount is modern, 18 carats gold,our production.Please see James W.
