I bought this item in 2011 at Waddington sales lot number HS133, this item belongs toScheak collection ofexotic international antiques, acquired by the Brant Museum - Brantford and Archives in 1994, item display number at Museum was 1994.50.122

Museum decidedto sell the whole Scheak collection it in 2009.

Scheak was a charmingly eccentric retired engineer who spent 40 years amassing antiques.

He had no descendants and, when he was in his late 80s, hit upon the Brantford museum as a possible home for his collection, which he hoped to keep intact. Many discussions and visits with museum and Brant County officials resulted in a deal that became public in 1993.
