First off, this is a movie which can be shared with everyone regardless of age, sex, economic level, geographical location, etc. If this is a fictitious story it's entirely believable. The script is very easy to relate to. The acting is REAL. The ending is not extremely happy nor is it sad. It's simply a conclusion of the story which the movie opens with. Scott Bakula has to be a dog lover. Have you seen him with his K-9 Porthose (sp?) on Star Trek: Enterprise? This movie proves his love for dogs. Stellar performances from the rest of the cast. I recommend this film to anyone who has ever had a dog as a kid and grew up knowing what love, loyalty and real committment is all about.
This is a very enjoyable family film. It takes a while to get to the point, but it tells the story about the family first and then becomes a very emotional tale. knowing that it is based on a true story is interesting also. I recommend this to all dog lovers.

This is a story based on my husbands great, great, great, great, ect... Uncle Charles Burden. The story line was very good and as close I suppose to the real truth as they could possiblly make it. If you know the true story it is interesting to watch for those pieces in the movie. Such as the red hair found on the dog, from the mule. I do wish they could have found a coonhound for the part but maybe people would not watch it if the dog where a coonhound. Over all I really enjoyed the movie and I think it is a great kids movie.
I wasn't disappointed with this movie. It's really one the whole family can watch and enjoy. There can be justice, even for a good dog. Sometimes things are not as they seem, and accusations can be made without proof. That's what happened to Old Drum. But all ended well. Glad I bought it.
Cute. Funny. Sad. Just a good clean show. I bought, and lost it to family members wanting to watch. Another good one - Letters To God ! Both a MUST have !
