\"Fifty Years of Country Storekeeping\" is a 242 page, 5.5\"x8.25\" hardcover written and published by M. A. Johnson in 1955. The author inscribed and signed the title page. Starting out in a small store in Michigan, North Dakota in 1907, the author grew his business until he owned many department stores, known as Johnson Stores, throughout the state; he would eventually be dubbed \"The J.C. Penney of the North.\"
The book is in very good condition, in an acceptable dust jacket. The jacket has many chips and tears, small holes, a tape repair to the back (applied to the reverse side). The blue cloth boards show light wear at the extremities. There\'s a bookplate on the front pastedown and a few mostly-erased pencil marks on the ffep. The binding is firm.
