Legendary Cellist Pablo Casals original signature and music notes written in his own hand. Casals was born in Spain in 1876 and began playing the Cello at age eleven. He would tour the globe for three decades as the leading exponent for the instrument he loved, playing for world leaders and dignitaries including a 1961 performance for President John F. Kennedy . A man of deep principals, he vowed never to return to Spain while it was under the rule of dictator Francisco Franco. In 1956 he took up residence in Puerto Rico where he lived for the remainder of his life.This wonderfully elegant piece is displayed in a museum quality frame with a distinguished photo of Casals playing the instrument for which he is forever linked.18.25" x 29.5".
