A wonderful rare trophy cup from the 1912 Coney Island Mardi Gras parade. This is a rare piece, silver plate, that was given to the winning entry for the Industrial Division of the parade, winner Luna. The Coney Island Mardi Gras parade is a tradition that dates back to the late 1800\'s, it is still held today only called the Mermaid Parade.

The trophy on the original wooden stand is 21\" tall x 14\" wide handle tip to handle tip and 7 3/4\" across the mouth of the cup. The cup itself is 15\" tall. The silver plate has been polished but does show wear to plating. The cup is a Meridian Silver Co. creation, a company based in Connecticut for many years.
