A beautiful novelty German solid silver table snuff or pill box. It is hallmarked with the German crescent moon and crown statesymbols, the 800 standard mark and a makers mark. It is also marked with twoFrench touch marks. I would date it to c1900. It has been beautifully designed being in the form of a chest on legs embossed with 18th century scenes. It is in superb condition beingfree from dings splits holes and repairs. The lid closes securely and the hinge is strong. It measures 1.75 inches (4.5cms) tall by a fraction less wide and weighs 34 grams. A super quality unusual piece.
